Imperial Hotel
With one of the best collections of 'British Art on India', Imperial Hotel, popularly known as 'museum hotel' has preserved very beautiful and original works of prominent colonial painters like William Simpson, William Hodges, Thomas and William Daniells, Emily Eden, John Zollony, James Ferguson and J.B. Fraser among the many. The hotel also has the largest collection on display of land war gallantry awards in India and neighboring countries such as Afghanistan, Burma, Bhutan and China.

Dedicating each floor of the hotel to an artist whose works decorate the rooms and corridors, the hotel has maintained three main art galleries and a rare collection of life size oil paintings of the Princely Rulers of India. 'Views in Lucknow', 'Rock cut Temples of India', 'Views of the Himalayas' 'Picturesque scenery in the Kingdom of Mysore', 'Sketches in Afghanistan' and collection of lithographs titled, 'Recollections of India' are major themes under which work of arts have been arranged. The not-to-miss feature of the hotel is the Royal Ballroom, which has a very huge and imposing oil painting by Bourne and Shepard titled 'The Durbar of the Nawab of Maler Kotla'

Exquisite Persian hand-knotted carpets, pieces of original furniture from antique to art deco, wood engravings, and aquatints belonging to the late 17th century are some other proud displays of the hotel, which hosted one of the earliest art exhibitions in 1936. The hotel was built in 1931 by one of the associates of Lutyen, Bromfield. Impressed by the royal grandeur and hospitality of the hotel, Lady Willingdon gave the name 'The Imperial' to the Hotel and conferred the lion insignia upon it.

There is also a souvenir shop within the museum premises where visitors can purchase key chains, t-shirts and chinaware.
