Bageshwar
Bageshwar is a beautiful town known as the "Abode of Gods" as it is an important place of worship. Bageshwar is a pious and holy land with the famous Bagnath Temple situated here. The annual Uttaraini fair is held in January each year. It is also a great place for adventure sports lovers. The famous Pindari, Sunderdunga and Kafni glaciers can be reached via Bageshwar.

Bageshwar is located 90km from Almora at the confluence of Saryu and Gomti rivers.


What to see in Bageshwar?
Bagnath Temple: This is the most famous temple of Bageshwar with thousands of pilgrims visiting this place during Shivratri and Uttraini Fair. It was built by King Laxmi Chand of the Chand dynasty during 1450 AD.


Chandika temple: This beautiful temple dedicated to Goddess Chandika attracts hundreds of tourists each year during the Navratras.


Shree Haru temple: 5kms from Bageshwar, this place is visited by devotees for wish fulfillment. A large fair is organized during Vijaya Dashami.

Baijnath Temple: Located 26kms from Bageshwar, Baijnath temple is situated on the left bank of Gomti river. The main temple is dedicated to Baijnath or Vaidhyanatha (a name of Shiva) from which the place derives its name. Other popular excursions may include Pindari Glacier, Sunderdhunga Glacier and Kafni Glacier
